Where are they now?

Emma, driven by a passion for hairdressing, embarked on a Level 2 Hair Professionals qualification at 16. Through attending Exceed Training and practicing on new models, she thrived on her hands-on apprenticeship, accelerating her learning. After two years of hard work, Emma achieved a distinction at her End-Point Assessment. Encouraged by her success, she enrolled on the Level 3 Advanced & Creative apprenticeship, excelling in her professional discussion and passing her Advanced Colouring & Cutting.

During a career’s session, Emma explored self-employment and gained valuable insights into entrepreneurship. Inspired, she decided to establish herself as a self-employed hairstylist, securing a chair rental. This leap of faith proved to be her best decision, bringing immense joy and fulfilment. By 20, Emma won the prestigious Rising Star Award at the Hair and Beauty Awards UK. Fuelled by her success, she now aims to win two more awards in 2024 after bidding farewell to Exceed Training in January 2023.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

We hope you will be doing something fabulous this weekend to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. This weeks News and Views session will focus on why we are celebrating the Queens Platinum jubilee, what it is and why it is important.

Why are we celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee?
Jubilee’s mark the different milestones, normally the jubilee follows the traditional wedding anniversaries. Queen Elizabeth II was the first British monarch to achieve Platinum Jubilee, so it was a big milestone to celebrate.

What is the Platinum Jubilee?
Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II being the British monarch.

Why is it important?
Only a few British monarchs have only achieved reigns of 50 years, and even that is very rare so for Queen Elizabeth to reach 70 years is an important moment in history for everyone to celebrate, additionally to this we were given an extra bank holiday to celebrate.
